SCREEN PRINTING
Embellishments may be printed on fabrics using carousel screen printer. A mesh screen is positioned on a garment and a squeegee is then used to press ink through a stencil cut in the mesh. A laser cross or line is typically used at the loading station to ensure that components are accurately aligned and the intended print is subsequently produced to a high standard.
EMBROIDERY
Specific examples of the use of lasers in sewing machines include:
– Positioning of buttons and button holes at regular intervals
– Waistband end-finishing on Jeans
– Placement of rivets/fasteners
– Placement of bar tack (stitches used to reinforce areas of a garment that may be subject to stress or additional wear)
– Distribution of checks and stripes on fabric
– Positioning of trouser/shirt pockets
